Sarah Bustillo is a Los Angeles based illustrator specializing in watercolor, ink, and digital media. She studied art at California State University Northridge, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Illustration and Anthropology.
She began her career as a portrait artist and gained attention for her Halloween themed portrait series. Sarah has since expanded into illustrations of animals and plant life, though she still loves creating portraits.
Her creations have been described as "grotesquely beautiful" and rather morbid. From an early age, Sarah had a strong interest in the macabre. Her works focus on themes of nature, femininity, death, and sexuality. She often depicts traditional artistic elements, such as flora and fauna, in states of violence and/or decay.
Sarah takes inspiration from wildlife, music, and anthropology. When she's not creating, she can usually be found taking pictures of moss, watching sci-fi television shows and films, and listening to true-crime podcasts.
